Global IME Bank Limited and Bhatbhateni Supermarket & Departmental Store have entered into a strategic partnership to introduce a zero-percent interest instant EMI facility for customers purchasing products at Bhatbhateni outlets across Nepal.
The agreement aims to promote digital payments and expand access to modern financial services by enabling customers to convert eligible purchases into easy monthly installments without incurring any interest charges, processing fees, or additional paperwork.
Under the new scheme, customers using Global IME Bank credit cards can avail themselves of the instant EMI service for purchases worth NPR 15,000 or more. Repayment periods will range from 3 months to 18 months, allowing shoppers greater flexibility in managing their expenses while making high-value purchases.
A key highlight of the partnership is the introduction of a dedicated BBSM Club Credit Card, designed specifically for regular Bhatbhateni customers. Based on customers’ shopping history and transaction patterns, the card will offer credit limits ranging from NPR 150,000 to NPR 300,000.
The initiative is expected to enhance the overall shopping experience by combining convenient financing options with exclusive customer benefits. Cardholders will be eligible for various promotional offers, including discounts, cashback rewards, loyalty benefits, and special campaigns tailored to frequent shoppers.
IMS Software has joined the collaboration as the technical partner, providing the digital infrastructure required to support the instant EMI system and ensure a seamless customer experience at all participating outlets.
Bank officials stated that the partnership reflects Global IME Bank’s commitment to expanding digital banking services and increasing financial accessibility for consumers. Meanwhile, Bhatbhateni believes the initiative will encourage cashless transactions and provide customers with greater purchasing power and convenience.
As Nepal’s digital payment ecosystem continues to evolve, collaborations such as this are expected to play an important role in accelerating financial inclusion, promoting responsible credit usage, and encouraging the adoption of digital financial services throughout the country.
