A senior aviation delegation from Flydubai, led by Aviation Safety Vice President Adrian Lukacz, held a meeting on Tuesday with Pokhara Metropolitan City Mayor Dhanraj Acharya to discuss the possibility of launching direct international flights between Dubai and Pokhara.
The discussion focused on several key areas including the operation of international flights from Pokhara International Airport, tourism promotion between Pokhara and Dubai, and compliance with international aviation safety standards. According to Mayor Acharya, Flydubai officials expressed strong interest in initiating flight operations to Pokhara.
Vice President Lukacz, who has over two decades of experience in aviation safety, risk management, and airline operations, stated that Flydubai sees significant potential in connecting Pokhara with its network. He also expressed admiration for the natural beauty of Pokhara and highlighted its tourism potential.
During the meeting, Mayor Acharya emphasized ongoing efforts to establish regular international flights from Pokhara International Airport. He noted that charter flights have already demonstrated the airport’s operational capability and stressed that direct international connectivity is essential for promoting Pokhara as a tourism hub.
Both sides agreed that improved air connectivity between Nepal and the UAE could significantly boost tourism, investment, and international visibility of Pokhara.
