Nepal Rastra Bank has called on stakeholders and the general public to submit suggestions and recommendations for the formulation of the Monetary Policy for Fiscal Year 2083/84.
Through a public notice issued by its Economic Research Department, the central bank stated that the upcoming monetary policy will be formulated in accordance with the provisions of the Nepal Rastra Bank Act, 2058. To ensure the policy effectively addresses the needs of the economy, the bank has sought constructive feedback from individuals, institutions, business communities, financial sector participants, and other stakeholders representing various sectors.
The central bank said that a broad range of recommendations would help formulate a more effective and balanced monetary policy capable of addressing current economic challenges and supporting sustainable economic growth.
Interested individuals, organizations, and stakeholders have been requested to submit their opinions and suggestions by Ashadh 5, 2083. Suggestions can be submitted to the central bank through its designated email channel.
The upcoming monetary policy has drawn particular attention as it will be the first monetary policy to be formulated following the recent election held after the Gen Z movement. It will also be the second monetary policy introduced under the leadership of Dr. Bishwo Poudel since assuming office as Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank.
With businesses, investors, bankers, and economists closely monitoring the policy direction, expectations remain high for measures aimed at boosting investment, supporting private sector growth, improving liquidity conditions, and strengthening overall economic activity in the coming fiscal year.
