Upper Tamakoshi Hydropower Limited (UTHL) has continued to face significant financial challenges after ICRA Nepal Limited reaffirmed its issuer rating at [ICRANP-IR] D, a rating category that indicates the company is either already in default or is likely to default on its financial obligations in the near term.
According to the rating agency, the reaffirmed rating reflects UTHL's overall credit profile and financial health rather than any specific debt instrument. The rating serves as an assessment of the company's ability to meet its financial commitments and highlights the elevated credit risk currently associated with the hydropower developer.
ICRA Nepal has also removed UTHL's rating from the “Issuer Not Cooperating” category after obtaining the necessary information and cooperation required for its assessment process.
