An investigation committee formed to examine allegations against former Home Minister Sudhan Gurung has completed its inquiry and submitted its final report to Prime Minister Balen Shah.
The committee's 45-page report contains the findings of its investigation into Gurung’s activities and financial dealings during his tenure as Home Minister. The inquiry was launched following allegations that he had undisclosed business interests and share market investments linked to businessman Deepak Bhatt.
According to the allegations, Gurung was involved in a business partnership with Bhatt in the stock market and had allegedly concealed ownership of shares in a company. The controversy led to increased public scrutiny and ultimately resulted in Gurung stepping down from his position as Home Minister while the investigation was underway.
The report reportedly includes a comprehensive review of documents, financial records, evidence, and testimonies collected by the committee throughout the investigation process. With the report now submitted, the government is expected to examine its findings and determine any necessary legal, administrative, or political actions.
The outcome of the investigation could have significant implications for Gurung’s political future. If the report concludes that the allegations are unsubstantiated and he is cleared of wrongdoing, speculation remains that he could potentially return to government leadership, including the possibility of being considered again for the Home Minister position.
