Rastriya Banijya Bank Limited has launched a new online system for mortgage collateral freeze and release services, marking another step toward Nepal’s push for faceless, time-bound, and results-based digital public services.
The initiative is designed to digitize traditionally manual banking procedures, making the process faster, more transparent, and more predictable for customers.
Over 800 Cases Already Processed
According to the bank, more than 800 collateral freeze and release transactions have already been completed through the new digital platform since its rollout.
The system was developed following an agreement between the bank and the Department of Land Management and Records, enabling integration of land administration processes with banking services.
Faster and More Transparent Banking Service
The online system is expected to:
- Reduce processing time for mortgage-related services
- Lower administrative costs
- Improve transparency and traceability
- Enhance overall customer experience
Nationwide Digital Banking Expansion
With a network of 315 branches across all 77 districts, Rastriya Banijya Bank continues to expand its digital service ecosystem alongside traditional banking operations such as loans, deposits, ATM services, and mobile banking.
The bank said this initiative is part of its broader effort to support Nepal’s transition toward fully digital and paperless banking services, in line with national e-governance goals.
