Marriott International and CG Corp Global have announced a major partnership to launch three new luxury hospitality projects in Nepal and India, marking a significant expansion of premium tourism infrastructure across South Asia.
The agreement was unveiled during a special ceremony in Kathmandu by Marriott International President David Marriott. Under the partnership, two prestigious hotels — The Ritz-Carlton Kathmandu and The Westin Kathmandu — will be developed in Nepal, while a JW Marriott hotel will be established in Siliguri, India.
The addition of these globally recognized brands is expected to strengthen South Asia’s luxury hospitality sector and further enhance the region’s appeal as a high-end tourism destination.
Speaking at the event, David Marriott described the agreement as an important milestone in the growing relationship between Marriott International and CG Corp Global.
“Today’s agreement represents a significant milestone in our partnership with CG Corp Global. These new hotels will create growth opportunities for our associates, generate value for investors, and deliver exceptional experiences for travelers,” Marriott said.
He also praised Nepal’s natural beauty and renowned hospitality culture, emphasizing Marriott’s commitment to supporting tourism infrastructure development in the country. Marriott expressed confidence that the long-term partnership with CG Corp Global Chairman Vinod Chaudhary and CG Hospitality Managing Director Rahul Chaudhary would contribute significantly to strengthening the tourism economy.
As Marriott International approaches its 100th anniversary, Marriott noted that strategic partnerships such as this help connect people, foster sustainable growth, and create lasting value for future generations.
During the program, CG Hospitality Managing Director Rahul Chaudhary stated that the partnership reflects Marriott’s strong confidence in the potential of Nepal’s tourism and hospitality industry. He highlighted the rapid growth of the relationship between the two groups, noting that two years ago the renowned wellness resort “The Farm at San Benito” in the Philippines joined Marriott’s Autograph Collection portfolio.
In India, CG Hospitality currently operates around 150 hotels in collaboration with Marriott under the Fern brand ecosystem, with plans to expand the network to 500 hotels by 2031. The group is also developing JW Residences projects in Dubai as part of its broader international expansion strategy.
“This is a landmark day for Nepal. The arrival of these world-class brands will elevate Nepal’s position on the global hospitality map and strengthen its reputation as a premium tourism destination,” Rahul Chaudhary said.
The Nepal projects are being developed in partnership with CG Developers, IG Group, ICG Group, Sharma Construction, MLE Group, and MLA Group. Industry observers believe the entry of internationally renowned luxury hotel brands will support Nepal’s tourism-focused development strategy, attract high-value visitors, generate employment, and enhance the country’s global tourism profile.
With The Ritz-Carlton, The Westin, and JW Marriott set to enter key markets in Nepal and India, the partnership represents one of the most significant luxury hospitality investments announced in the region in recent years.
