India’s automobile market is preparing for the arrival of four new SUV models over the coming weeks as June 2026 comes to an end. The upcoming launches cover a mix of hybrid, electric, and turbo-petrol powertrains, reflecting increasing competition across the premium SUV segment.
These launches from Skoda, Tata, Honda, and Nissan are expected to expand consumer choices while raising competition in performance, technology, and efficiency.
1. Skoda Kodiaq RS
Skoda is set to open bookings for the performance-focused Kodiaq RS from June 22. In the initial phase, only 50 units will be available.
The SUV is powered by a 2.0-liter turbo-petrol engine that produces 265 BHP and 400 Nm of torque. It comes paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT), targeting buyers looking for a sportier premium SUV experience.
2. Tata Sierra EV
The highly anticipated Tata Sierra EV is expected to launch by June 30, 2026.
The electric SUV is expected to feature a closed front grille, aerodynamic alloy wheels, and redesigned bumpers, creating a more futuristic appearance. Battery configurations are expected to align with Tata’s premium EV lineup.
3. Honda ZR-V
Honda plans to introduce the ZR-V Hybrid SUV to India in limited numbers. Bookings have already begun, while deliveries are expected to start from July 1, 2026.
The SUV combines a 2.0-liter four-cylinder petrol engine with a dual-motor strong hybrid system, delivering 184 BHP and 315 Nm of torque. It is also expected to accelerate from 0–100 km/h in around 8 seconds.
4. Nissan Tecton
Nissan’s upcoming SUV, the Tecton, is scheduled for its global unveiling on July 9, 2026.
The model is expected to be based on the Renault Duster platform while adopting design inspiration from Nissan’s premium SUV lineup. Engine choices are expected to include 1.0-liter and 1.3-liter turbo-petrol options, with a hybrid version potentially arriving later.
As these launches approach, India’s SUV market is expected to become even more competitive, offering buyers a broader range of choices across conventional, hybrid, and electric mobility.
