A founder shareholder of Citizens Bank International Limited has initiated the process to sell 77,578.31 units of founder shares held under their ownership.
According to the notice published by the bank, the sale process is being carried out in line with the prevailing directives issued by Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB), which require founder shares to be offered first to existing founder shareholders before they can be made available to others.
The bank stated that existing founder shareholders had already been informed and given an opportunity to purchase the shares. However, since no applications were received within the prescribed period, the bank has now opened the opportunity to other eligible investors.
Interested and qualified individuals or institutions can submit applications within 35 days from the publication date of the notice at the bank’s central office located at Narayanhiti Path, Kathmandu.
After receiving applications, the bank will proceed with the transaction in accordance with applicable laws and regulatory requirements.
This sale may create an opportunity for a new eligible investor to enter the bank’s founder shareholder group, subject to approval and completion of the required legal and regulatory procedures.
