A two-day Nepal-China Investment Conference has commenced in Beijing, China, with the objective of promoting bilateral investment, trade, and economic cooperation between the two countries. The conference, which began on Thursday, will conclude on Friday.
The event has been organized by the Embassy of Nepal in Beijing in collaboration with the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT). According to the embassy, the conference serves as a platform to showcase Nepal's investment potential and strengthen economic partnerships with Chinese businesses and investors.
More than 30 investors and business representatives from Nepal are participating in the conference, forming one of the country's largest investment promotion delegations to China in recent years. According to Parbati Aryal, Head of Economic Diplomacy at the Embassy of Nepal in Beijing, over 80 Chinese companies are participating on the first day alone, while the total number of participants from both countries is expected to reach around 200 during the two-day event.
The second day of the conference will feature a special session under the China-Nepal Joint Business Venture Economic Federation, focusing on expanding bilateral trade, investment, and broader economic cooperation. Analysts believe the conference could play an important role in attracting greater Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) from China into Nepal by creating new business partnerships and highlighting investment opportunities across various sectors.
