Prime Commercial Bank Limited has signed an investment agreement to support the development of the 2 MW Arun Khola II Hydropower Project, which is being promoted by Himalayan Engineering and Energy.
The agreement was signed by Narayan Prasad Shrestha on behalf of Prime Commercial Bank and Om Prasad Bhattarai representing the project developer.
According to the agreement, the hydropower project carries an estimated total cost of Rs. 48.64 crore. Out of the total investment requirement, Prime Commercial Bank will provide Rs. 30 crore in loan financing, while the remaining amount will be contributed by the promoter company through equity and internal funding.
The project is expected to produce approximately 13.18 GWh of electricity annually, including:
- 4.864 GWh during the dry season
- 8.319 GWh during the monsoon season
The developer has targeted completing construction within 15 months.
This financing reflects continued lending interest from Nepal’s banking sector toward small and medium-sized hydropower projects, particularly those aimed at strengthening domestic electricity generation and supporting long-term energy development.
