The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) continued its upward momentum on the latest trading day, advancing 8.78 points (0.33%) to close at 2,661.71. The gain follows a strong 44.59-point rise recorded in the previous trading session, reflecting sustained buying interest across the market.
The benchmark index opened at 2,659.59 and traded within a range of 2,625.46 to 2,662.01 before settling at the day's high. Total market turnover reached Rs. 4.11 Arba, with 8,964,223 shares of 359 listed companies changing hands through 43,131 transactions. The market's total capitalization stood at Rs. 45.58 Kharba, while the float market capitalization reached Rs. 15.38 Kharba.
Laxmi Sunrise Bank Limited (LSL) emerged as the most actively traded stock of the session, posting a turnover of Rs. 41.13 crores. The bank's shares closed at Rs. 222.00. On the gainers' list, Upper Lohore Khola Hydropower Company Limited (ULHC), Snow Rivers Limited (SNORL), and Kalanga Hydro Limited (KAHL) topped the market, with each stock hitting the 14.99% positive circuit.
On the losing side, 10% NIC Asia Debenture 2085/86 (NICAD85/86) recorded the steepest decline of the day, falling 10.60% to close at Rs. 1,130.00. Sector-wise, the Banking Sub-Index led the market with a 2.04% gain, while the Manufacturing and Processing Index posted the smallest sectoral increase, rising 0.86%.
