Three companies that recently completed their Initial Public Offering (IPO) issuance and allotment process are now entering the final stage before trading begins in Nepal’s secondary market.
Kalanga Hydro Limited, Sanigad Hydro Limited, and Everest Color Limited have initiated the process required for listing their shares on the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE).
Before securities can begin trading in the secondary market, companies must complete agreements related to share dematerialization (Demat) with CDS and Clearing Limited (CDSC).
Companies Complete Demat Agreements with CDSC
Kalanga Hydro Limited
Kalanga Hydro completed its IPO allotment on Jestha 27 and later signed the share dematerialization agreement with CDSC on Ashad 5.
Everest Color Limited
Following completion of IPO allotment on Ashad 4, Everest Color entered into the Demat agreement with CDSC on Ashad 9.
Sanigad Hydro Limited
Sanigad Hydro completed its IPO allotment on Ashad 1 and signed the Demat agreement with CDSC on Ashad 5.
Following these agreements, the companies will move ahead with the remaining procedures required for official listing on NEPSE.
Once listed, investors who received IPO allotments will eventually be able to trade their shares in the secondary market.
Company Profiles and Share Structure
Kalanga Hydro Limited
- Total shares to be listed: Rs. 1.40 billion worth of shares
- Ownership structure: 65% promoters and 35% public investors
Kalanga Hydro operates the 15.33 MW Kalangagad Hydropower Project located in Bajhang District and has already commenced commercial electricity generation.
Sanigad Hydro Limited
- Total shares to be listed: Rs. 2.85 billion worth of shares
- Ownership structure: 70% promoters and 30% public investors
The company has completed construction of its 38.46 MW hydropower project in Bajhang District and has been commercially generating electricity since Falgun 6, 2079.
Everest Color Limited
- Total shares to be listed: Rs. 300 million worth of shares
- Ownership structure: 73.67% promoters and 26.33% public investors
Unlike the two hydropower companies, Everest Color operates in the manufacturing sector and produces paint products. The company has been manufacturing and distributing paint products for approximately 14 years, working in coordination with multinational partners.
Next Step: Entry into Secondary Market
Completion of the Demat agreement marks an important milestone but does not immediately start trading.
The next stage involves completing NEPSE’s listing requirements and final approval procedures. Once those are completed, trading symbols, opening ranges, and market debut dates are expected to be announced.
The addition of both hydropower and manufacturing companies continues the recent trend of broadening participation in Nepal’s capital market and offering investors more sector diversification.
